The Stay Magazine Vol. 2 · No. 03 · March 2026Vol 2 · 03
March is autumn in the southern hemisphere, and few places wear it better than the country around Queenstown. The old gold-mining town of Arrowtown turns properly gold; the lakes go still; the summer adventure crowds thin out. This issue is about timing a trip to that short, beautiful window.
Queenstown itself is compact and busy; the best stays are often just outside it, on the lake or up the valley toward Glenorchy, where the road runs out and the scenery takes over.
